On the SEC "What we do" page (https://www.sec.gov/Article/whatwedo.html), I do not find anywhere where it states that the purpose of the SEC is to limit, advise, monitor, or restrict private investors by limiting the investments that are available to them.
Rather, in the SEC's own words, "The laws and rules that govern the securities industry in the United States derive from a simple and straightforward concept: all investors, whether large institutions or private individuals, should have access to certain basic facts about an investment prior to buying it, and so long as they hold it."
The SEC's role is to EDUCATE AND DISPENSE INFORMATION. I use leveraged ETFs as a trading vehicle and regard it as a right to do so.
