The SEC's proposed regulations limiting the ability of investors to invest in leveraged and inverse funds is misguided and harmful. I have successfully used these types of funds over the past several years to build my nest egg for retirement. Leveraged funds have allowed me to maintain desired exposure to the stock market while preserving capital in a way no other type of investment can, and inverse funds are invaluable instruments for shorting an imbalanced market without taking on interest-bearing margin debt. I don't want a third party evaluating my capability to make these kinds of investment decisions for myself. Let free markets proceed unencumbered by government interference and excessive regulation. I know better than the government which types of investments are best for me.
