I have utilized leveraged and inverse funds as part of my investment tools for the past 20 years. These funds are extremely valuable means to me for investing. I consider myself a sophisticated investor and I am very aware of the upside and downside in participating in these funds.
Limiting investors by requiring an individual to submit to an overly burdensome qualification process is unnecessary. Currently, brokerage firms require an investor to read and agree with terms before investing in these funds. I do not want an external party evaluating my capabilities for investing in leveraged and inverse funds.
I want my freedom preserved to invest how I choose in public traded securities. Having additional government oversight for the buying and selling of these funds completely violates my freedom to pick and choose how I want to invest my hard earned dollars.
