I strongly oppose this rule change. I have been investing in these funds for several years now with no adverse outcomes. I was well informed of the risks from the beginning and have taken diligent measures to manage that risk and I fully accept the risks. Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investment mix and their enhanced returns help protect my portfolio.
I am well capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their performance characteristics, and I dont want a third party evaluating my capability to do so and preventing me from buying them. That is a fundamental infringement on my Constitutional liberty.
I strongly believe in preserving the long-standing free public markets where investors and their advisors have the freedom to buy public securities without additional government-imposed limitations on investor choice.
