I am dismayed that the SEC proposes to make it difficult to buy leveraged and inverse funds, as if I were a child needing some hand-holding. These funds make it possible when seeking enhanced returns, or to protect my portfolio. As an investor, I am capable of understanding the implications of the purchase of leveraged and inverse funds and their performance characteristics, and don't wish for a third-party in this case the SEC or other party to try to evaluate my capability to do so, to prevent me from buying them.
I wish to preserve the capability of investors and advisors, to buy public securities without the government imposing limitations on, and restricting free and unencumbered choice of securities, and in the purchase of leveraged and inverse funds.
