I have my retirement savings invested in stock of various companies. It is important to me that the companies that I invest in conform to standards and practices consistent with my values. I value my right to see and vote on shareholder resolutions that attempt to improve the standards and practices that the corporations that I invest in follow.
This proposed regulation is obviously intended to reduce my ability to work with other shareholders to leverage my ownership in companies to influence the practice and standards of the companies. I believe it is a violation of my rights as a part owner of a company to address the Board and other shareholders.
