Rule Comments,
To the SEC;
I am a Main Street investor and an executive officer of a large corporation. I oppose making it more difficult for all Main Street investors to file shareholder proposals. These proposals often encourage companies to act more responsibly on important social policy issues such as reforming executive pay, respecting human rights and protecting the environment.
Working people are invested in companies through our retirement savings. We depend on shareholder proposals as part of a democratic process that holds corporate CEOs accountable. I am against tilting the rules in favor of corporate CEOs as it weakens corporate responsibility.
