Subject: short selling

August 19, 2008

I am disappointed that the SEC has not acted in the best interest of citizens by allowing the moratorium on short selling to lapse. The up-tick rule should be reinstated at a minimum and consideration should be given to disallowing all short selling.

Our company retirement plans and pension managers have been destroyed by globalization. We are now all on our own trying to invest and grow our retirement funds. The SEC is allowing our retirement investment returns to be stolen by short sellers.

Maybe this is what you intend?
