I completely agree with U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, "In terms of naked shorts, my view on that is naked short selling in wrong anywhere. Any investor before they sell short should line up the stock and that goes without saying."
Obviously there is a lot of money to be made by allowing illegal naked short selling and a lot of that money can be directed to the appropriate lobbyists and political campaign funds to entice the SEC to avoid enforcement of the existing regulations regarding naked short selling. Nonetheless, I would hope that the SEC might see some value in maintaining honest and ethical stock markets in the United States. It is after all the primary (supposed) purpose of your agency. Thank you for considering my request.
