October 29, 2022 We need full transparency as to who is lending securities and who is borrowing those lent securities. This needs to be realtime data and 100% transparent in a public database. The way securities lending is now relies solely on self reporting which is easily manipulated and used fraudulently, for example, marking securities as long instead of short. A good way to implement this would be with user ID's on a blockchain to allow full transparency and realtime data.
