As an active investor in the stock market, I should be entitled to all data affecting said market. Especially the lending data on securities. Market entities having the ability to hide data is unfair and unjust when we should be participating in a “free market”. I believe that requiring a report every fifteen minutes is an extremely important step in helping verify actions taken on the market, and any extra costs associated are necessary to prevent fraud. Victimized companies and thus investors need to know the intricacies of what is happening to their securities so they can better defend from short selling predators, the impact of which has killed many integral companies to the US economy. Allowing the average retail investor full transparency in this matter will help alleviate the burden under which the SEC is currently when dealing with any short sellers that are illegally attempting to cellar box a company, and will be a rightful step to an actual free market in which company securities can be traded without the fear of price manipulation. Lending data needs to be public, as it has just as large an effect on a stock as the actual buying and selling of it. Take these steps towards market transparency for the average investor, and it will make the stock market an actual fair market based on clear data for all to see. Thanks
