Dear Ms. Countryman: Thank you for your work on this proposal. It reflects a thoughtful approach to increasing transparency and oversight of the growing securities lending market. I have read some of the comments asking you to alter your initial proposal, and I am writing this to let you know that I fully support leaving your initial draft as-is. Enacting this proposal as you have written it would elevate the standing of American markets in the eyes of the world and show that we will pursue fair and transparent markets even if powerful companies desire to continue operating in the dark.
