October 9, 2022 To whom it may concern, I appreciate the opportunity to provide comments on File No. S7-18-21. I am a concerned citizen who would like more transparency in our markets. I fear that our current policies regarding short sales will eventually lead to economic collapse. I am in favor of this rule because it will allow the majority of investors to see if a down turn in a securities' price is due to short sales. When I say majority, I do not mean the institutions that hoard the majority of wealth in the world. I am speaking about the majority of people who work hard every day to put their pennies into the stock market in hopes to retire at a reasonable age. Some institutions, like Citadel, are trying to make the argument that this rule would impair price discovery. I would like to argue that the current system is what limits price discovery. How are retail investors supposed to make educated decisions when the data we use regarding short sales is delayed for several weeks before being released? In conclusion, I a m in favor of more transparency in the market and believe S7-18-21 is a step in the right direction.
