As a retail investor, transparency from the top down is most important. Too often are large firms that use the selling short of securities getting away with millions of dollars, and too often is it being hidden due to existing chinks in the financial structure. The increased reporting would help me, and surely other investors, feel more secure in knowing that theres no hidden corners or back room deals that benefit those with more power and pull.
