Dear Gary Gensler, SEC Commissioners, and Staff, This new transparency rule is a great first step towards bettering the lack of transparency currently in the US financial markets. Why should major corporations, such as market makers and hedge funds, controlling vast amounts of the country’s capital, be able to hide their lending activity completely? To me, this does not make much sense. Citadels comment related to this rule highlights why it is needed – shady practices, which are easy to hide with current regulations, need to be brought into the light and stopped. We need to stop the malpractices of shady financial institutions that are allowed to do almost anything in the dark, without the need for reporting. Transparency is the best disinfectant, and we need do disinfect the US financial markets, or else the peoples trust in them will be lost forever. This does benefit anyone. Regards.
