Hello,
The security market should be fair and transparent for all investors. I invested in Tesla back in 2018, and the stock was so volatile at that time (up and down 10+% on a daily basis) due to the shorting activities. It discourages common investors to be involved in the stock investment. In addition, the long unaware risky lending activities can collapse the entire security market when the price discovery of victimized companies is taken place. No body wants to see that happen even the parties who will benefit from it.
