August 16, 2022 As a retail investor I explicitly support a 15 minute reporting period or shorter. Individual investors can only benefit from this change and institutions who say otherwise do not speak for retail. The cost and effort are easily justified if it can prevent fraud and the ability to hide in loopholes. Markets need greater transparency. If funds can continue to short in the dark then retail remains unaware of the risks they take when purchasing securities.
