As a retail investor in the USA's stock market I think that rules like this are necessary for a clear and fair market. The retailers need as much information as possible and the SEC needs to show that they are really listening to us, not just with a few words on the social media but with true action like approve as much rules like this as possible.
In a fair market, there's not reason to hide or to control information.
