I usually am a large advocate for market transparency, especially when it involves activity on assets you own. I do feel however that this doesn't go far enough. I strongly disagree with a brokerage loaning out my shares without my explicit consent on a case-by-base basis even with transparency on the activity of the loan. These actions make me lose trust in institutions and feed into the philosophy of cryptocurrency and self banking. I view this rule as a step in the right direction but stops far short of upholding confidence that my assets are being properly stored and processed.
