In relation to the proposed changes that would decrease the whistleblower claim backlog it appears as though zero calculations about the action impact has been done? Will the proposed rules decrease the time for processing claims by 10% 20% or 50%. Arguably, the additional variables used to calculate rewards for very small and very large payouts will increase the processing times. Therefore, I am uncertain of what impact on the backlog the SEC expects these news rules to have. Furthermore, if the backlog is such a big problem - why doesnt the SEC increase the number of OWB staff or engage in efficiency improving initiatives. A whistleblower has a 90 day window for file a Claim for an Award, yet the SEC has no deadline (or even internal estimations) for adjudication time frames.
