Subject: Reconsider Proposed Amendments to the Whistleblower Program: File Number S7-16-18
From: Paul Steffen

October 11, 2019

Dear Rule Comments,

I am writing to urge you to reach out to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) about proposed changes to its extremely successful whistleblower program.

Whistleblowers have helped the SEC recover over $1.7 billion in sanctions from wrongdoers over the past decade.

Proposed revisions to Exchange Act Rule 21F-9(e) would create an unrealistic reporting procedure that would disqualify a vast number of whistleblowers.

Issues of accountability are extremely important to me. I urge you to stand in opposition to these proposed changes by the SEC

Sincerely,
Paul Steffen
