Subject: Please protect shareholder rights (File No. S7-16-07)

September 25, 2007

Chairman Christopher Cox
Securities and Exchange Commission
100 F Street, NE
Washington, DC 20549-1090

Dear Chairman Cox:

I ask you to protect the right of investors to file shareholder resolutions. Please take no action on the proposed initiatives that would curtail or eliminate this essential right. After all shareholders are the owners of the corporation; they have the inherent right -- indeed the responsibility -- to voice their concerns about policies of their corporation.

Thank you for your consideration of my comments.

Sincerely,
Martin Stevenson
