I have been selling mutual funds for over 20 years, and I oppose the allowing broker/dealers to set their own sales charges and commisions. I feel it would be a disservice to the clientel who depend on the advice and guidance of a licensed representative concerning their investment choices. By allowing b/d to set commisions, the market will decrease the amount paid the reps, and thusly, the amount of service and contact will diminish.
