My name is Kathleen Plummer, President of Plummer & Associates, a Fee-only Financial Planning Firm.
I am writing to urge you to implement the SEC oversight of Indexed annuity sales.
I am a CFP and a member of the FPA and of NAPFA. I have been in practice since 1992 and have seen many abuses involving the sale of inappropriate annuities by insurance agents and brokers.
Customers are duped into believing the purchase is wise and appropriate, when in fact, it is rarely either wise or appropriate.
Please do not turn down the opportunity to protect consumers from further abuse.
