I am a member of FPA, state of Idaho.
I have been an insurance agent and financial planner for 17 years.
On a weekly basis, clients are offered a free meal if they will attend a meeting sponsored by a professional in elder care.
The session is a sales for indexed annuities.
The sales people can advertise anything they want. I have complained to the Dept of Finance in Idaho. They said to talk to the Dept of Insurance. I spoke to the Dept of Insurance. They said they could no nothing.
I support the SEC requiring oversight on the sales of Indexed Annuities.
