I am a member of the FPA.
Please know that I strongly support the initiative for SEC oversight of index annuities. These products are being mis-sold. I work with clients that are in index annuities that were sold by people that were either morons or dishonest. People do not understand what they have and their appears to be absolutely no regard for suitability. Few issues can make me more upset than seeing the abuse of seniors by insurance agents that lock people into long-term index annuities that promise all sorts of bonuses as long as you never use the money.
