I’m writing because my family and I were affected by the economic collapse of 2008, and we're mad as hell. I lost my job as a consulting engineer as a direct result of the economic collapse in 2008/2009. As a result, I was unemployed for nearly ten months. I finally regained employment, but at a cost. My wife and I had to relocate from an area we loved to a strange location and I took a hefty cut in pay.
Having to bear the brunt of the consequences for others' foolhardy behavior has embittered me and my family to the recent ways of Wall Street and Washington. I demand accountability for the reckless and criminal acts perpetrated by the well-heeled and well-connected and I will not support any organization that attempts to brush corporate/political malfeasance under the rug. I expect a meticulous investigation. When it is almost certainly confirmed that the very wealthly made obscene profits by knowingly employing shoddy practices and circumventing regulations, I expect their fat bonuses to be clawed back and the charlatans to be jailed and impoverished. I'd like the arrogant gamblers who brought this country to its knees to feel a little of the sting that I and my loved ones have had to endure.
