Ayn Rand and the World She Made: Atlas Shrugged (Chapter 12) Capitalism "She defined it, lovingly, as the only economic system in history to be rooted in and inextricable from individual rights: the freedom to choose an occupation, to earn and spend money in a free market of consumer goods, and to own the fruits of one's own creativity and labor in the form of private property." Our economic system is based on this premise and we have seen the system no longer allow the middle class, "to own the fruits of one's own creativity and labor in the form of private property." For capitalism to function properly this must be restored equitably to all that labor.

The Great Recession was a combination of many influences in the American and Global markets, no one thing created the event. There is great evidence that a lack of regulation of industry was a major component and this is something YOU can do something about.

Distribute the wealth equitably and fairly.

I’m writing because my family and I were affected by the economic collapse of 2008, and we don’t want it to happen again.

One way to change the incentives so Wall Street doesn’t collapse our economy again would be for regulators to set up a way for shareholders to grab back ill-gotten gains.

If it turns out that the profits in a given year were built on shoddy practices that become clear in the out-years, those bonus payments should be forfeited.

Thank you for considering my comment,
