Dear Chairman Gensler, I am largely living on investment income and would very much like to be better informed about the energy consumption and environmental degradation caused by companies with whom I have investments. As a committed environmentalist, I want my money used for activities that do not drive climate change. Of course, I am concerned about the impact of significant weather events on retirement income. It seems to me that the SEC has a significant role to play in educating the public about what large American companies are doing. I’m interested in your thinking about these issues and hope you will use all your powers and influence to assist in curtailing pollution, climate change and global warming.
