June 16, 2022 As a beef cattle farmer, I oppose this rule. It would be extremely difficult to calculate greenhouse gas emissions (ghg) emissions for beef cattle I sell. I would need data on all my inputs - purchased feed, vaccines, ear tags, net wrap and plastic for hay, fertilizer, equipment, tires, etc. Even if I had a number for ghg emissions, it would not account for my ghg reductions from growing grass and crops to feed the cattle. This rule will only increase costs to companies with no proven benefit to investors.
