May 24, 2022 It's no secret that fossil fuel companies have had a direct role in creating the climate crisis. From the burning of fossil fuels to giant oil spills that pollute our ocean, fossil fuel companies have had a devastating impact on our environment for decades. We all know that carbon pollution is a leading driver of our rapidly-warming planet. And even more sinister, the fossil fuel industry knows that their products harm the air we breathe and the water we drink. Yet, they haven't been required to report to their shareholders the devastating impacts their products have on public health and the climate. I support proposed SEC rules to require reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and study the impact of those emissions have on the climate.
