Dear Commissioner Gary Gensler,

I am writing to submit comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed rule on the Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

I fully support the proposed rule by the Securities and Exchange Commission as it is a long overdue, and vital, component of protecting our environment and addressing the increasing demands of climate change.

Farmers and ranchers have a tremendous impact on the environment and ranching specifically is a leading source of pollution.

The proposed rule's focus on the value chain for climate-related risks and impacts under Scope 3 means the start of the value chain, like farms and ranches, will finally have to make accommodations to their role in climate change.

Farmers could and should play a leading role in climate sustainability and this rule change will require them to do so. Elected lawmakers should follow the lead of regulators at the SEC and codify these rule changes into law.

Thank you for your leadership on this important matter.

Regards,
James McCrary
