To Whom It May Concern: America used to be an energy independent country. However, under the Biden administration, we have decreased our domestic production and increased our dependence on foreign imports. This will destroy American competitiveness, and make us dependent on foreign governments for cutting-edge products and innovation in the energy industry. Even more frightening are the implications for our national security. If we’re dependent on foreign oligarchs and dictators for our energy needs, we are vulnerable to those foreign leaders’ whims and demands. The Biden administration should be exploring policies that increase our energy independence rather than policies that make us subject to the preferences of foreign actors.
