Hello.
I am a native born citizen of the United States. I oppose the imposition of climate change disclosures.

The SEC mandate is to protect consumers by ensuring a fair market. Adding environment issues to the SEC rules will diminish the agency’s effectiveness and focus. The SEC does not have expertise in environmental issues, nor should it.

The rule is an unnecessary cost burden to American companies, who face serious anti-competitive trade rules in foreign countries. I doubt China, Russia, and other countries would adopt and enforce such a burden on their companies.

It is highly likely that the disclosure language will be obtuse, and so make the already complex 10K filings harder to comprehend.

Clarity of vision and reporting is a key part of establishing and protecting a fair market. The proposed rule will draw resources away from that important goal.
