Dear Chair Gary Gensler,

It is imperative that. Z action be taken immediately if we human beings are to confront the climate crisis on this planet and survive. I am writing to express my strong support for Proposed Rule S7-10-22: Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

I hope you are consciously aware that serious climate alterations are occurring now and these changes are creating significant instability and disruption in our financial and economic systems. Ii is quite apparent that implementing and enforcing a strong rule will give investors the available information needed to protect our investments and hold companies accountable for reducing heat-trapping emissions. Analyses of the corporations’ effects on climate and the environment followed by honesty and transparency will be essential if investors are to believe and trust enough to become shareholders or buy products. We must unite in warding off the imminent disastrous effects of climate change. Companies will be recognized and grow stronger by initiating these life saving energy alternatives to save our planet.

I applaud the SEC for exercising its mandate to ensure that investors and the public have access to science-based information about risks that could affect their investments. Climate change will have far-reaching impacts across our society and having data about its likely effects on companies’ assets and long-term business outlook is essential for investors to make informed decisions and protect the wellbeing of our economy.
Thank you. Please begin implementing this proposed rule immediately if you haven’t already.

Please pass a strong climate disclosure rule as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Ms Virginia Metcalf
