Dear Chair Gary Gensler,

I write in support of Proposed Rule S7-10-22: Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

Climate change is happening now, already creating instability and disruption in our financial and economic systems. Implementation and enforcement of a strong rule will give investors and our society as a whole what is necessary to protect investments affected by climate change and to hold companies accountable for reducing the emissions that increase global warming.

You at the SEC are to be applauded for exercising your federal mandate to ensure that investors and the American society have access to science-based information about risks affecting investments. Having data about the effects of climate change on companies’ assets and long-term business outlooks will very soon become essential for the protection of investments and to make informed decisions for our economy.

Please pass a strong climate disclosure rule as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Rev. Cheryl Brumbaugh-Cayford
