I support these changes. In particular, I believe that making it possible to nominate directors and include these nominees in proxy materials is important. I can understand the companies concerns about cost to produce proxy materials, so if a way can be found to address that without watering down the fundamental right to have outside nominees in the proxy materials, I'd support that also.
The recent large stock losses served to expose board of directors that were not minding the store. Shareholders also learned that they have to take more interest in the affairs of the companies they own. I believe that companies will ultimately benefit by having the potential of directors coming from outside the normal sphere of director nominees.
