I strongly support the provision that a broker must disclose all fees and other facts material to a financial recommendation being made to me. They must first ask my financial objectives, both short and long term, and then provide me with a clear, concise explanation as to how the current recommendation is/will meet those objectives. In addition this should be must in writing if I so request. I also support abolishment of "sales competitions" in relation to selling financial instruments. I also agree if they call themselves "advisors/wealth managers, etc" they must be registered and display documentation of such. I'm a retired, registered Professional Engineer for well over 40 years and have never experienced a limitation for such registration to impede my ability to make a good living.
