Dear Ms. Mary Jo White, I’m Anthony and I cofounded a startup in New York City whose mission is to create a mobile application for college students to capture and share their college experiences with other students through social video. I am an entrepreneur who has been following the SEC’s decision making about Title III for a while and there have been no published rules as required by the JOBS Act back in 2012 which passed through both Houses of Congress. This has been a roadblock in the market for our company, Recap, and we see that the equity crowdfunding rules as proposed by Title III would provide clarity for us. Our goals are to reach out to our network of investors that believe in us and round up enough money to hire developers, hire student ambassadors, and create a salesforce. We would want to give jobs to as many people as possible because our economy needs it and startups provide this opportunity! I am writing to urge you to schedule a vote on the Title III rules so that we may be able to do what was promised in 2012 to companies that want to participate in equity crowdfunding.
