It's becoming pretty obvious that a cabal of wall street players have been shorting companies and then feeding the media with lies and manipulation to drive down the stock price to make their bet come true. This is a horrific moral hazard and there's nowhere near enough accountability or transparency to prevent it... it's immoral and works against the core principles of the market. This proposal is a step in the right direction to at least bring some transparency to bear on this endemic problem.
