To whom it may concern,
As you may know, most of the financial crisis stem from hedge funds and traders taking too much risk almost to a point where it broke the financial system. No need to count the examples but Long Term Capital Management, Amaranth to count a few. The transparency helps keep them honest. Furthermore, it also serves mainstreet investors who do not have access to millions of dollars as the threshold to get into these funds.
It is still unclear why the transparency is taken away from the citizens of the United States.
