Paper is in many ways a better method to use for long term retention of important financial and other important documents.

It can be archived locally and is not as likely to be hacked or altered by a third party as online electronic information is. We have all heard about both governmental and private organizations being hacked.

It is much easier to use paper as opposed to electronic information as a learning tool ( it is easier to make notes on when studying a balance sheet or P&L statement).

I believe that the default for financial data should remain paper. It is a disservice to the investing public to require them to spend extra time and effort to generate their own permanent and secure records.
