There is no reason for this ruling to take place. Investors are currently being provided the option on which way they would like to receive their information and many people (like myself) prefer to have it in printed format - not electronically. Essentially- this ruling just places the burden onto the individual investor, who would then need to print out the information so it is more easily ready. Additionally, many investors like me - save their correspondence in hard form. I do have receive and save some materials electronically, but to force this is ridiculous.
