Dear Sir: I am a conservative investor with sufficient knowledge of stocks which I am keeping in a small retirement portfolio. All of which are excellent growth companies. Had the uptick rule been in effect at the time of the banking crisis I would not have lost as much money. It was a mistake to remove the uptick rule and I emphatically encourage the reinstatement for a more conservative and orderly market, especially with the influence of the internet.
