To whom it may concern, This is a polite request, that you give consideration to reinstating the uptick rule for the benefit of normal families all over the world.. I am located in Australia, and whatever you do in your position will be emulated immediately here, and elsewhere around the globe.
Reinstating the uptick rule would be a positive step in smoothing out the current volatility of investments worldwide, the most important being peoples retirment benefits when it is the only source of income for them. If families can have a small hope of funding themselves in retirement with more stable investments, we wont be in as much of a mess later on, and governments worldwide wont have such a large welfare burden.
Its time to start regulating for the benefit of the people, not for the corporations that control world finance. Normal people with no actual control over large scale financial issues that affect them, are the ones expected to pay forever for bailouts of the corporate world that got us all into this mess, please give serious consideration to the long term benefits of regulating for the people, as well as the positive consequences for you, of actually being seen to be regulating for the people.
If I was in a position to make decisions which could have a positive effect on the general future population, I would do so. But, I am not in that position, my only chance is to plead with you to do your very best to make changes that provide a positive outcome for everyday hard working people, who have worked, paid taxes, and are now exposed to the financial muscle of the corporate world that have such a large influence on the markets. Not many people are able to make such a positive change to so many peoples futures, but you can.
The corporate world is fine, it is getting bailed out everywhere, but Mr and Mrs Norm Family are running out of steam everywhere around the world.
YOU CAN START HELPING MR AND MRS NORM FAMILY QUITE EASILY, just re-instate the uptick rule.

the uptick rule, that you can go home from work that day, with that nice inner feeling that you
have done something good for other people, for 2 main reasons...
1- You can...
2- You wanted a positive outcome for normal people...
