After the market devastation we (individual investors) have experienced the past six months it is apparent to me the uptick rule needs to be reinstated. Not a modified change but a full reinstatement as it existed prior to July 2006. It is obvious to me the change was made not for the individual investor but the short sellers.
I know I am not a professional or for that matter even a novice investor. I am someone like many of my friends and family who have a vested interest in the market for savings and/or retirement. So please on behalf of us and millions like us please reinstate the uptick rule.
