The average investor does not know how to short a stock and invests to see the stock gain in value, not hope for a drop. It seems to be another way for the average man to get screwed out of his hard earned money by those who add nothing to the economy but prey on others hard work to make their money. The uptick rule is a small step to help the average investor.
