As an individual investor, I'm concerned that the lack of an uptick rule can make it easier for some to manipulate the stock market. I realize that this is an enormously complex issue and that it might be impossible to conclusively prove the case one way or another. But I think that it's clearly better to err on the side of caution when it comes to market manipulation. The uptick rule should be reinstated as it previously existed.
