I think the Uptick rule should indeed be reinstated. Shorts have been allowed to run wild for far to long. I think some short selling is OK but there is no reason at all the uptick rule should not be put back in place. This would give investors a large increased confidence in bank stocks.
Shorts have been running wild causing some bank stocks to lose the attraction to common investors.
I urge you at least place the uptick rule back in place. I am sure it would help the overall market recover a bit faster...
