I am an independent stock market investor who has lost most of my retirement savings even though I bought reliable companies for several years. I feel strongly that tbe "uptick rule" sshould be reinstated as it was previouly written to stabilize the markets. The rule worked for decades and its purpose was well served. I am dissapointed and dismayed that the government of the United States Of America would allow the ne3ar collapse of the financial system,partley due to the loss of the uptick rule leaving the door open to he quick buck market traders with no concern for the Company or the Countfy.I hope the Commision will d the right thing by restoring the integrity and confidence we once had.Restoring the previous Uptick Rule would be a good place to start.Thank you
